OUR STORY
Celebrating the Memories began with one celebration of life and a realization: the way we remember someone should be as unique as the life they lived. When I had the opportunity to plan my first celebration of life for a family honoring their father, I was struck by how many lives one person can touch. We are spouses, parents, siblings, children, friends, colleagues, mentors, and so much more. We each have our own stories, personalities, passions, and relationships—and together, they create a life worth remembering.
"I was fascinated and deeply moved by the exchange of shared memories and new stories among the people who showed up to honor this remarkable man. Some were familiar to the family, others were new. Together, they painted a much fuller picture of a life well lived."
That experience became the inspiration for Celebrating the Memories--a company dedicated to helping families step away from the logistics to focus on what matters most: connecting, remembering, and celebrating a life with the people who knew and loved them best.
REBECCA WILLIAMS
Founder, Celebration of Life Specialist
Rebecca’s love for event planning began in the backyards of Northern Virginia, where she discovered the joy of bringing people together to celebrate life’s milestones. As her three boys grew, so did her passion for creating distinctive and personal experiences that reflected the people being celebrated.
Alongside her best friend, Mara, Rebecca went on to co-found a successful party planning business where she developed her eye for detail, creativity, and the thoughtful touches that transform an event into an experience people remember. Today, that passion has evolved into Celebrating the Memories where she brings her event planning expertise to celebrations of life. She believes a farewell should feel personal, not formulated, and that the most meaningful events truly reflect the person being honored.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys time with family, exploring the world, connecting with old friends, and making new ones. She is always up for a laugh, an adventure, and occasionally a little adrenaline rush. She loves the big occasions, but treasures the everyday moments that create genuine connection. At the heart of everything Rebecca does is a simple belief: our memories are one of the greatest gifts we leave behind.
KIM
Event Assistant
Kim brings warmth, compassion, and a genuine desire to care for others to her role as Event Assistant with Celebrating the Memories. She plays an important part in bringing each celebration together, providing thoughtful on-site support and helping ensure that families and guests feel welcomed, cared for, and able to focus on what matters most.
After spending two decades raising her two children and creating a strong, loving foundation for her family, Kim embraced a new chapter—one centered on work that reflects her caring nature and desire to serve others. Kim’s natural kindness, attentiveness, and eye for detail make her an invaluable part of the Celebrating the Memories team. She is often the person quietly noticing what needs to happen next, making sure the little details don’t become distractions, and offering a reassuring presence when families need it most.
Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and their lively household, which includes two dogs, a cat, and five chickens. She treasures family time, embraces the everyday chaos that comes with a full household, and wouldn’t have it any other way.
TRIXIE
Graphic Design Specialist
With a creative eye and exceptional attention to detail, Trixie enjoys transforming ideas into meaningful designs that elevate each celebration and create lasting memories for families and guests alike. As our Graphic Design Specialist, she creates custom invitations, signage, programs, keepsakes, and other personalized elements that reflect the unique story, interests, and spirit of the loved one being honored. She has a special talent for capturing personality through design, ensuring that every piece feels authentic, beautiful, and deeply personal.
When she’s not creating custom designs, Trixie can usually be found cheering on her two children at sporting events or spending time outdoors with her husband and family. Whether mountain biking, camping, enjoying lake days, or gathering around a cozy fire, she treasures creating memories with the people she loves. Her passion for family, storytelling, and meaningful connections shines through in every design she creates for Celebrating the Memories.
